Alexandra Polina
HAMBURG
Alexandra Polina was born in Uzbekistan. She studied Journalism at the National University of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. She graduated In 2017 from the University of Applied Science in Bielefeld with MA in Art and Design. Currently she is working as a freelance photographer in Hamburg. Corresponding to her own biography Alexandra Polina's work deals with the topics of identity and belonging. By exploring those themes through the use of boldly staged compositions, she is creating a unique perspective in the field of contemporary documentary photography.
Alexandra is a winner of several awards including Grand Prix of Fotofestiwal Lodz, Gute Aussichten / new german photography award and Photonic Moments award and a finalist of PHmuseum 2021 Women Photographers Grant, Merck-Preis and Organ Vida Festival. Her works have been shown in Germany, Portugal, France, Italy, England, Croatia and Luxembourg.
