During his youth, Matthias and his family moved to several places surrounding the Baltic Sea. This constant relocation sparked his initial interest for observing the unique relations that people have with their environments and more importantly, with one another. His photographic style is driven by the intimate connections made possible through everyday interactions. With each image, Matthias strives to create authentic scenarios. This is evident in both his personal and commissioned projects.
